No proper facilities to young hockey players
In the scorching heat of Mumbai, girls (U17) and boys (U15) were asked to play semi final and final on the same day of a inter school hockey tournament.
Hockey turf requires high amount of watering as this allows ball to move smoothly helping in dribbling and passing.
As per the reports stated in the Mumbai Mirror, Sports Authority of India (SAI) has been facing the water issue for a long time now.
This means that the pitch conditions is not upto the required standard.
To make the condition even worse the reports further adds that there is no proper drinking water facilities for the player’s as well.
This surely is a alarming sign for the Hockey India as they lack the necessary facilities to promote the grassroots.
